Carthage, Nauvoo host WIGA tournaments

The Western Illinois Golf Association held tournaments in Nauvoo and Carthage recently.
Great River Road Golf Club in Nauvoo drew 58 golfers for its tournament May 24-27.
Dewayne Blair of Macomb won the Championship Flight (30-34-31=95). Scott Pfeiferling finished second (31-36-29=96). John Campbell was third (28-38-32=98). Gil Day finished fourth (32-35-31=98), and Jason Helenthal was fifth (32-34-33=99).

The Carthage Golf Club had 182 golfers at its 53rd annual amatuer tournament May 31 to June 3.
Dewayne Blair won the championship flight with a 98. Richard Copeland of Keokuk, Iowa, was second with a 100. Max Rodeffer of LaHarpe was third with a 104. Kevin Boltz of Keokuk was fourth (105), and Jeff Hammel of Keokuk was fifth (105).
Jason Helenthal had a hole-in-one on No. 2 during the tournament.
