Plymouth Old Settlers begins Aug. 24

The 122nd annual Plymouth Old Settlers begins Friday evening, Aug. 24, with a ham, beans and corn bread supper and continues throughout the weekend with food, activities and entertainment on the square.

A snack stand will be open during the day Saturday and Sunday, with special meals offered Friday and Saturday evening. Button drawings occur throughout the weekend for prizes. All entertainment is free.

The ham and beans dinner begins at 5 p.m. for a free will donation. At 6 p.m. the kids pedal tractor pull begins in front of the stage. The Friday entertainment at 7 p.m. is by Modern Cowboyz, an opening act for Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and others.

Saturday, Aug. 25, starts with a breakfast at the Legion hall at 6 a.m.

Registration for the bike ride begins at the fire station at 7:30 a.m. The rides are sponsored by the Hancock County Sheriff's Auxiliary. The kids ride begins at 8 a.m. and the adult ride begins at 9 a.m. Registration for the parade begins at 8 a.m. The kids parade is at 10:30 a.m. with the feature parade at 11 a.m. followed by awards. Car show registration is 9 a.m. to noon and car show awards are given at 4 p.m.

At 12:30 p.m. fun and games for kids by WCAZ radio starts. Inflatable activities and carnival games will be open all afternoon and evening. A petting zoo is planned.

Entertainment during the afternoon includes The Banat Casablanca Tribal Belly Dancing at 1:30 p.m., and the Carle Family at 2 p.m. with a button drawing at 2 p.m.

Saturday evening includes a fish and chicken dinner at 5 p.m., button drawing at 6:30 p.m., and at 7 p.m. Lisa Perry Project which has been an open act for Tracy Byrd-Corp Party, Jimmy Buffet concert, and sang the national anthem for the Peoria Chiefs and Peoria Pirates games.

A teen dance at 9 p.m. in the fire house features Krossfire.

On Sunday, Aug. 26, is the second annual antique tractor pull and garden tractor pull at the Chris Miller Memorial Ballpark. Sign-in begins at 10 a.m. and the pull begins at noon. The concession stand is open.
