Spooky fun planned at Boo-tiful Nauvoo

Nauvoo will once again present its annual enchanting “Boo-tiful” Nauvoo's Halloween Festival weekend on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26 and 27.
Friday, Oct. 26, events:
The Nauvoo Grand Bed & Breakfast host, Miss Belle O. DeBall, will present the mystery dinner party, “An Affair to Dismember.” Dinner guests will be assigned participating characters and will solve the murder between bites of a four-course meal. Reservations are required. Characters will be assigned on a first come first serve basis so make reservations early. Call 217/453-2767 or 217/242-0209 for more information.
Teens can enjoy the movie, “The Haunted Mansion,” at 6 p.m. at the Kraus Theater.
The scarey haunted house will be open for thrills and chills at the Knights of Columbus building beginning Friday, Oct. 26, and continuing Saturday, Oct. 27, and Tuesday, Oct. 30, each evening at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $3.
Saturday, Oct. 27, events:
Hundreds of beautifully lit jack-o-lanterns are displayed along Mulholland Street. The Halloween parade begins at grade school with setup beginning at 4:45 p.m. with costumed participants and floats walking down Mulholland Street to Nauvoo City Park beginning at 5 p.m.
The fortune teller will be found in the Pastimes building from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Children's games and a $1 photo shoot will be at Grandpa John's Cafe.
The 24 best jack-o-lanterns will be on display and sold by a silent auction from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on the corner of Page Street and Mulholland. Auction winners must be present to win and can pick up their pumpkins at 8:45 p.m.
