The Carthage Bluegirls basketball teams of 1992 and 1993 were inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.
The 1991-92 team had a 30-2 record, while the 1992-93 team finished 32-1. Each won a Class A state title.
Carthage Middle School Coach Kurt Hickenbottom was named the District 16 Junior High Boys Coach of the Year. He guided the team to a 25-2 record and a second place finish at the Class 2A state tournament.
