Sherrick 10th in state track meet in shot; Panther senior ends high school career clearing 50 feet in shot

Brayden Sherrick is known as a discus thrower, but he ended his high school career placing in the event he loves the most.
Sherrick finished his high school career with a 10th place finish in the shot put at the IHSA Class A State Track and Field Meet Saturday, May 24, at Charleston.
Sherrick, a senior from Central/Southeastern, had a distance of 50-feet, 7 1/2-inches in Saturday's final round. Senior Matt Eader from West Frankfort won the event with a throw of 60-0 3/4.
Sherrick was the only county athlete to qualify for the finals.
Below are Friday's preliminary results for each county athlete and the winner of each particular heat at the state meet.
