Homestead Lumber wins trap league

The Homestead Lumber trap team won its fourth consecutive title in the first and second summer trap leagues at the Hancock County Gun Club. The Hancock County Gun Club concluded its Second Summer Trap League on Tuesday, Sept. 16, with a cookout, trophy presentation, and fun shoot.
First place went to Homestead Lumber with a total score of 1,496 broken birds. The team is composed of Keith Hartweg and Tim Tomlinson of Carthage, Jim Fuhrman of Mendon, Dan Gannon of Augusta, and Lindy Roberts of Ft. Madison, Iowa.
Second place went to Macomb Kiwanis with a total score of 1,381 broken birds. The team is composed of Joe Vandemark, Dr. Ted Pawlias, and Hasan Espahbodi of Macomb, Mike Burgard of Colchester, and Dan Roberts of Bushnell.
Third place went to the Duck Hunters with a total score of 1,315 broken birds. The team is composed of Ken Jones of Quincy, Brent Young, Bill O'Neal, and Dr. Chris Jones f Carthage, and Randy Burgus of Burlington.
There were seven teams competing, and the “High Gun” Trophy went to Ken Mitchell of Colchester, who shot on the Western Illinois Construction team.
