Football all-conference teams feature several county athletes

The West Prairie Trail football coaches have released their 2009 all-conference teams.
Below are the all-conference selections for the West Prairie Trail Southwest Division.
First team offense
Quarterback - Michael Lafferty, senior, Illini West (unanimous).
Center - Travis Hobby, senior, IW (unanimous).
Guards - Jamie Wise, senior, Pittsfield/Griggsville-Perry (unanimous); and Josh Twidwell, senior, Central/Southeastern.
Tackles - Carl Hartweg, senior, IW (unanimous); and Tucker Moss, senior, PGP.
Ends - Jacob Schmudlach, senior, IW (unanimous); Michael Johnson, senior, PGP (unanimous); and Patrick Flesner, senior, CSE.
Running backs - Ser Whitaker, junior, IW (unanimous); Devon Johnson, senior, PGP; and Garrett Kestner, sophomore, CSE.
Kicker - Nathan Knuffman, sophomore, CSE (unanimous).
At-Large - Derrick Hull, senior, CSE; and Drake Schmudlach, junior, IW.

Illini West won the division title with a 5-0 record. Pittsfield/Griggsville-Perry was second at 4-1, followed by Central/Southeastern (3-2), Beardstown (2-3), West Hancock (1-4) and Rushville/Industry at 0-5.
